This year, Akur8 leaders will take part in two key sessions at ITC Vegas:
- On October 17, CEO Samuel Falmagne will join fellow industry leaders for the main stage session, ‘In the Hot Seat of an Insurtech CEO.
- Akur8 will also present the breakout session, "Shaping Tomorrow: The Next Generation of Actuarial Practices" led by CEO Samuel Falmagne and Chief Client Officer Brune de Linares. Joining them will be industry experts Mario DiCaro, VP of Capital Modeling & Analytics at Tokio Marine HCC; Phil Natoli, Chief Actuary at NEXT; Steven Reslie, Actuary and Manager of Rate Development at Georgia Farm Bureau; and Thomas Holmes, Chief Actuary for the U.S. at Akur8.

Samuel is CEO of Akur8. He spent 15 years at IBM in various international sales and sales management positions before joining Insurtech Shift Technology as Head of Sales. At Shift, Samuel was instrumental in the successful internationalization of the company, including in the US. After 2 years at Shift, Samuel co-founded Akur8.
Brune is Chief Client Officer at Akur8. She started her career at IBM in consulting before transitioning to sales and sales management positions for complex products, including Cloud solutions. She left IBM to join Google Cloud where she spent 2 years in commercial roles before joining Akur8 and taking the lead on global business development.
Thomas Holmes is currently the Head of US Actuarial Data Science at Akur8. Before Akur8, he worked for several years at Allstate, spending time as an analyst for commercial auto and then as a lead modeler on Allstate’s property modeling team. During his time as an actuary, he has worked with GLMs, GLMnets, and GBMs. He received his Fellowship from the Casualty Actuarial Society in 2019.
